On my previous post I shared the first four ways of measuring your SEO success. Today I will continue sharing the four remaining ways that you can measure your SEO success and achieve your online business success. As I’ve said SEO is all about achieving your online business goals. And the strategies and ways are only an important aspect of it. Measuring your success is your way in meeting your goals.

The first four ways to measure your success that I have shared before was through:

1. Pure Rankings

2. Visitors

3. Conversions

4. Goal-Orientated Conversions

In addition to this are:

5. Keyword conversions

6. On-Site conversions

7. Sales

8. Return on Investment

Measure your SEO success through keyword conversions. There are keywords or key phrases that will convert better than the other. A keyword or phrase that tends to draw more traffic does not assure you that you will have a successful conversion. Are you faced with the problem of increased traffic that does not lead to increased conversion? We often tend to primarily look into our keywords used to generate that traffic. Some words will obviously have different effect on the search than other and might influence the course of their visit. Observe on how your competitor deal with their PPC keywords, this can help you to come up up with winning keywords and key phrases.

Your site itself is the greatest factor on how your visitors act when they are into it. Websites that convert well tend to be laid-out in a way that actively encourages site visitors to move from one section of a site to another. The same principle also applies to moving spiders applies to moving your visitors. It is important that your website should be user- friendly as well as to search engines.

Every online business owner’s goal is a sale or at least a lead. This goes the same as to conversions. Sales are an important metric to measure the success of any marketing campaign but, it is important to note that measuring the effectiveness of your SEO by online sales is a false metric. For actual sales happen offline unless you have a online store powered with a shopping cart solution that will allow your visitors to transact and purchase good over your website. Always remember that online marketing and SEO is only partially responsible for your sales. You should always take into consideration outside factors that may affect your sale, and do not rely only to your online marketing campaign.

Return on investment is the most realistic metric to measure any marketing campaign, whether it is online marketing or offline. You should have a positive answer after asking yourself if you are making more money after investing in online marketing, search engine marketing specifically. Having a positive answer to the question means that you marketing campaign is working well.

Search engine optimisation and search engine marketing takes a lot of effort and patience. But once you achieved you online business goals, the feeling of fulfillment and success is different. And remember, if things do not go well, then you should start observing what hinders you to be successful. Sometimes its just those basic things that we often neglect for we are focused on working on the strategies that will bring us success. Do not hesitate to ask for help from experienced professionals. UK SEO Agency offers online marketing services that will help you achieve your online business goals.

As a business owner your primary goal is ultimately to increase your revenue. Whether you are a SME or a corporate business, your main goal is to increase your business’ revenue. This may be achieved by providing more services or improve your customer satisfaction, you need to look into less- expensive options. And  to expand your market and keep the current ones coming back.

In order for your market or consumers to purchase your products/ services they need to know your existence. By delivering the right information about your business and its benefits to your potential consumers, is one way of letting them know your existence. Giving them the information about your business is just not enough. You need to create a partnership with people who want to do business with you. There are various ways to communicate with your potential consumers. Traditionally, word- of- mouth is the most basic method of delivering the information. However, with the technology today and with the fast- paced lifestyle of people word- of- mouth may no longer that effective in delivering information. Another traditional way to deliver your business message is through print advertising. Print advertising may one of your options to deliver your message to your potential consumers because it is inexpensive compared to television and radio advertising. Anyone can read your message with print ads. However only a few of them are your potential consumers and it may not be an efficient method to deliver your message to your potential consumers.

Your best option is to have the Internet as a medium in delivering your message to your existing consumers and to the potential ones. You can benefit a lot from the Internet by directly communicating to your consumer or potential consumers. With the Internet you may be able to expand your target market and and possibly provide your products and services to people on the other part of the globe.

There are various ways in delivering your message using the Internet. However, only a few of them seems to be effective in achieving your business goal, which is to increase your revenue. It is not enough that you already have your website. Having your website is only the start of your journey to online business success. Because online business is becoming an important aspect in a business, thus competition is a very common situation on the online world. If you have a famous brand perhaps people may easily access your website. However if you are still on the process of building your brand it may be a bit tougher than you think. And there are a lot of websites which may have the same products or services as yours.

Because of this considering Search Engine Marketing is your best option. With Search Engine Marketing you will be able to increase your online visibility and significant traffic to your website. Marketing your products through Search Engines can be the most cost- effective option. Using effective techniques in delivering quality traffic to your site your website becomes more visible to search engines.

How SEO can improve your marketing

SEO is a modern form of marketing, as in todays marketplace – the majority of people will check online before they purchase a product, and can you guess where they will find your website? A advertising hoarding next to the motorway, the newspaper or Google?

The simple fact, 90% of people on the internet have heard of Google, and virtually 99% of the internets traffic goes through the major 3 search engines. It is when you take this information into account, and you realise in march 2006, 213 million searches were performed, Search Engine Marketing is a key marketing activity. However choosing the SEM method which best matches with your business is difficult, yet key choice.

Pay Per Click
Pay Per click is a great method of internet marketing, giving the illusion you are under complete control of your business and the traffic your website gets. The traffic you recieve is extremely well targetted, giving you a great chance of making a transaction. however it is solely focused on driving traffic for only the time you pay for it, as soon as your budget runs dry – your competitors are taking your potential sales.

Search Engine Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation is another great method, its strenths are in the traffic figures being predictable, and once you are at the top of the listings your efforts can be diverted to defending those rankings. You can be certain that whilst you are at the top, your competitors will not beat you with the tick of a clock: instead having to out optimise your website. However SEO’s one big disadvantage is it takes time to get the listings, as your competitors will be defending them it can take time.

Which is best for me?

We often get asked this question, and in our opinion PPC is a great short term medium. You are always best investing in your website’s SEO for long term success.  I have seen many companies spending in excess of £30,000 per month, which in these economic times is a rediculous amount when a similar SEO campaign would cost just a tenth of the value, however may take 10 months to receive the listings. However in reality you could then cut the SEO budget considerably and still deliver the same traffic.
