Getting Your Blog Indexed Effectively

A lot of people are having difficulty in getting their blog indexed on search engines such as Google. A blog may be indexed in a few minutes and other may take weeks. Search engines have not clearly defined the formula for indexing a blog. But there are effective ways and methods that have been proven to work for a lot of bloggers.

You may have your blog submitted to the search engines to be indexed. Most people believe that blogs submitted in search engines are being favored by search engines itself and other believes that this can hurt your rankings. Submitting your blog on search engines does not hurt your rankings but always keep in mind that it is you who is submitting the blog or site. Search engines like to receive votes from other reliable and established websites.

Having a huge network of sites is huge advantage in indexing your site in search engines through voting or recommendation. All you need to do is to have a relevant contextual link on one of your network sites and you will often get indexed easily and quickly. This is also an advantage if your network sites are often indexed.

However, if you do not have a network of sites you can still index your website through recommendation. All you have to do is look for websites that will allow you to put your content on their site. Article directories is the best example for this but remember to place your URL in the resource box to link back to your site and the chances are good and that you will be indexed fairly and quickly. Other sites that you can add your content are HubPages, Technorati, Squidoo and other bookmarking sites.

Another effective way to get your website indexed on search engines is to use RSS feed and submit it to directories. By submitting your RSS feed to directories will alert your RSS subscribers and even spiders that your content has been updated. This can increase your chances of getting indexed on search engines.

But the best thing that you can do to effectively index your site on search engines especially in Google is to write relevant and quality content and update them often. This may not be the exact formula in indexing your site but we all know that Google like fresh and unique. Content is king. Your content need not to be that long, a brief, relevant content that are updated regularly increases your chances of your site to be index in search engines especially in Google.

Getting into search engines is not that difficult as well as it isn’t that easy too. It may take your site to be index longer compared to other sites. But by following the above tips you may able to increase your chances to be index in search engines. It can take a bit of patience and it’s worth the wait.
