Why Links Are An Invaluable Tool

There are many important elements that go into a good search engine optimisation strategy and using links is one of the major components. The idea of using links is to channel more traffic to your website through other websites and as with much of good SEO, the main objective is to play the numbers game.

A popular website that enjoys many visitors every day with a link to your website will undoubtedly attract more people to look at the link than a quiet website. With the whole objective of SEO being to drive higher volumes of search traffic through is one of the more simple, yet often overlooked, techniques of SEO.

Search engines, such as Google, are constantly evaluating the popularity of websites and how many links and how highly they are regarded is one the chief ways in which the search engines take into consideration when they are ranking your website. Google in particular pay a lot of attention to the inbound linking system in place when page ranking a website and this is why it is essential to make sure that links are involved in your SEO approach.

As with much of SEO, there is a correct way to do things and a damaging way to do things and an air of caution should be applied when utilising links in order to make sure they are appealing to the search engines. A website with an overload of useless linksĀ  is not valuable to you as the inbound links that you use must derive from a website with good quality content.

If the website that is providing your link has poor standards of content and you have many of these useless websites providing your link, alarm bells will ring to the search engines and you run the risk of them categorising your website as a spam site. A spam site will then be penalised and removed and your rankings will be null and void. The UK SEO agency understand the importance of link popularity and SEO should only ever be carried out by professionals due to the ever changing nature of the strategy.

Link popularity is defined in a number of ways and one of the ways a search engine will identify your link popularity is by pure numbers. The more sites that link to your site the better but after detecting the amount of links you have, the search engine will then look at the quality of the links which is why it is vital not to simply bombard thousands of links to your website from nonsense sources. So, not only is it important to make sure that you have lot of inbound links, but he quality of those links is equally as crucial.

There are even pages that are known as link farms and FFA pages that have a directory and when you use them they automatically exchange links between your website and every other website in their little black book. However, search engines are not fond of this technique, if you get caught using either of these ways to gain links, you may be removed from the search engine listings. The UK SEO Agency professionals are fully aware of all the online Marketing regulations, feel free to contact us to discuss your online business needs.
