What to focus on in 2010

Improving your online marketing should be top of your list of New Year resolutions and the first thing to do is recognise and identify where you can make the improvements. Once you know what parts need to be improved you can get started on setting goals and putting a plan into place. Search engine optimisation is massively important to a successful website and social networking has recently become such a dominant force that you should not ignore it. Email and mobiles can still be used and should not be forgotten about in the new era of technologies and here are a few ideas on what to focus on in 2010.

Social media is not easy to use as far as your return on investment (ROI) figures but it is possible to use it to your advantage. Take part in social media to ensure that you don’t get left behind and as well as this you will also be included in any news, updates and happenings that may affect your business. You should track your progress and keep referring back to your goals, which may include increasing the awareness of your brand with symbols and signatures, developing relationships with your customers, increase website traffic with recommendations and build up your customer base.

SEO should also be focused on and you should ensure that you focus on more than simply being noticed by the search engines. Getting ranked highly by the search engines is simply half of the goal, as you still need to ensure people are visiting and using your product/service even if you make to the first Google page. Make sure that your website matches up to your meta descriptions and title tags to ensure that you don’t annoy or disappoint your customers when they reach your site and it isn’t what they expected.

Email marketing should not be forgotten about simply because there are many new forms of communicating. It is not about to disappear in 2010 and increasing your email marketing efforts will still pay off; despite the introduction of social media. Use social media to increase your email listings by all means and take email to the next level by encouraging subscribers to forward your emails with via email or with social networking. The two can be used as a partnership rather than as enemies.

Many websites now enjoy mobile phone compatibility and if yours does not then you should use this year to change that. Optimise for all hand held devices and focus on B2C companies. Check that your pay per click (PPC) goals are actually being met and if they are look to improve them. Many people forget about checking in with their PPC as they are using so many other advertising schemes and marketing ideas to have the time to check on the PPC efforts and results so use 2010 to stay on top of what is going on within your business.

Tips To Make Your PPC Ads More Effective

Not everyone in the Internet marketing world  have the skills in creating effective 140 characters of ads in Twitter and the expertise to create an astonishing 95 characters of ad in GoogleAdwords that will give you higher conversion rate. The constraint in the number of characters in creating a PPC ad is just one of the several challenges that you will face in creating your PPC ads.

Contextual ads delivered by any search engines are not standalone ads like newspaper classified ads are. A PPC ad is your channel in linking your keywords or key phrase and your landing page(s). Your PPC ad is not only a tool for you where you can post your latest sales message in 140 or 95 characters.  But its purpose is to simply match what your readers have in their minds and take them to your landing page with a click.

There are five factors that you need to consider to create a more effective PPC ads.

1. Always include  substantial keywords in your title. When a user search for the term”UK SEO” in Google or any search engine he or she will expect a results having the exact keyword or key phrase as a result. So it is best that you include substantial or strong keyword or key phrases in your PPC ads to increase your visibility in search engines for your targeted keyword or key phrase.  But if you are targeting more than one keyword or key phrase you should consider creating multiple ad groups for a range of significant search terms.  Having each ad optimised for a particular word or phrase.

2. Compelling and Relevant Title. The title is the most important part of any PPC ad. If it is not interesting or relevant your users will tend to ignore your PPC ad.  Writing a strong title is not that easy. In Google AdWords  you only have 25 characters for it. “Effective UK SEO Agency” takes up 23 characters leaving you with 2 more. Including your search term in the title of your PPC ad is really challenging in 25 characters or less.  Thus, it is always important that  you  remember that your title should always be compelling and relevant.

3. Shorter Words. Use short words, whenever you use long words there is always a shorter alternate word for it.  You can use car instead of automobilegift instead of giveaway.  Remember,  in writing PPC ads every character counts.  So when you use short words you can give two or more words to work with.

4. Be Specific and Relevant. Remember that your PPC ad will be appearing on a full page of search engine results and you will be competing with every organic listing and every other PPC ads. If your ad  says something similar with other listings and ad then its pretty ordinary, and the chances of earning a click is less.  To make your PPC ads unique from your competition you need to be more specific and relevant to attract yoru target consumer. Do not sell Effective SEO Services rather than SEO Services alone.  Think on how you can be different compared to your competition.

5. Always Consider the Larger Picture and Evaluate. Consider every opportunity and option that will come, look into the larger picture.   Remember,  your PPC ad links your keyword or key phrases and your landing pages. Look into options on  how you can improve  it.  And evaluate your ad, this will measure if your PPC ad is effective or not.

These are just a few from several tips on making you PPC ads more effective. The ultimate tip is to keep on testing and evaluating, don’t stop until you get the right and effective solution in creating PPC ads. UK SEO Agency can help you in your PPC Ad campaign. Combining SEO And PPC

Combining PPC and SEO tactics is one of the unattainable goals of most search engine campaigns in delivering best search results. However, in theory these two tactics should go together smoothly.  SEO should be created as a strong foundation for every search campaign. Combining them in the right time and manner you can achieve great search engine results. Ensuring that the two tactics work together makes a complete sense for both efforts target the same audience and utilises the same concepts of headline, content and landing pages.  However, always remember that the ingredient of a perfect search engine campaign are applied from different ways or methods and should be on top of each other rather mixing them.  Similarly, SEO and PPC has different regulations and depends heavily on different teams creating different results.  However, this does not mean that the two can’t  be combined effectively.

Ranking well for the ideal keyword is the ultimate goal of paid and natural campaigns.  Choosing the right keyword(s) varies with every site or brand and industry that you are into.  Choose natural keywords that that produces most of the traffic. In the case of paid keywords through PPC, focus in on exact match terms  or best you use Google’s Search Query Report.  With the Google Search Query , you will have an access on  exact keywords that people are using and more likely to convert.  You should be up- to- date with both the natural and paid campaigns for competition on your keywords are tough and change is constant.

It is difficult to choose what campaign you will rely on to, natural search tends to deliver longer history but it can take a lot of optimisation effort.  PPC  depends completely on the keyword you are buying and the time that you have started, such it is ideal for testing. Both natural SEO search and PPC are completely different, but combining the two can create a successful short term search optimisation campaign.  Combining both tactics can lead you to successful search optimisation campaign.  This process of combination of the two tactics is one way of analysing the effective keywords.  PPC allows you to have your brand a prominent place in search results, this will help you  establishing your brand.  With PPC you also have an edge against your competitors on search results.
