Here at the UK SEO Agency we believe in helping you market your company in the correct ways. By doing this we can help you grow as a business and create a strong lasting relationship with yourself and your staff members.

There are many different ways to market your business, it just depends how much time and effort you are willing to commit to the cause. Here are a few examples:

Social Networking

The most cost effective way of getting your name out there would be to take full advantage of the social networking scene, the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Myspace have become powerful tools over the last few months and are so simple and FREE to setup. A lot of people don’t realise how to take  advantage of these from a business perspective, so here is a few tips:

• Target potential clients and people in a similar industry to yourselves

• Its about the quality of people rather than the quantity

• Try to interact with your viewers as much as you can

• Don’t always try the hard sell approach

Corporate Identity

Whether your a new business starting up, or an established company looking to update its image getting your corporate identity correct is essential for a successful business. A nice logo and signage as well as getting a stationary pack produced which includes business cards, letterheads, compliment slips etc can be so beneficial for you. Professional looking stationary can say a lot about a company, don’t forget its all about lasting first impressions, you only get one chance to make your mark so try and take full advantage of this.

Media Presence

One of the most powerful ways to market your business is advertising in local papers and magazines, your average local papers and magazines are read by over 7000 people, this is 7000 potential clients. Whether you have a full page, half page or quarter page advert they can all work in your favour, its about appealing to the readers and making sure that your advert stands out ahead of others. Producing eye catching designs I have found personally works best in the past with our own clients.

Leaflet Drops

Another great way of getting your name in the limelight is doing a leaflet drop, this can take up a fair bit of your own time but i am sure you will agree in the long run it will benefit you greatly. I have found this to be one of the most effective ways you can market your business. For the cost of getting an A5 or A4 leaflet designed and printed all you will really need is for two or three of the potential clients to take the bait and come on board depending on what it is that your business does. Everything you our doing here is about getting your companies name out there to the public, if people don’t know about you how do you expect to get the business, it is about being clever with what you our selling.

Internet & Website

The last and probably the most obvious way of promoting your business is via the internet. The internet is such a big tool in the world today, you only have to look at the types of companies that advertise there sites on the internet to realise how huge it actually is. The first thing any potential client will ask you is what is your website address, this usually means that they will go home and do a bit of research about you before they make a decision. This shows how important it can actually be for you to have a website in place already as you don’t want to lose out on business, remember its all about first impressions. Although It is important to have your website in place already it is equally important to have it looking professional, the worst thing to do is to be letting people browse your website if it is not looking how you want it to look, there is nothing worse than looking at a visually poor website as it can scare away a lot of clients and as they say bad press travels a lot faster than good press.

All of the above are great ways to help you market your business, it is just about planning it carefully and taking your time to make sure you get it right first time. Make sure you don’t just concentrate on one thing, try and explore every marketing avenue you can as there is potential clients every were. A quality business takes time.

Listening to your customer!!!

As a marketing company we often having meetings and conversations with prospective clients. One of the biggest pieces of feedback we get from them is that the vast majority of our competitors fail to listen to their clients request or briefs. A good example of this recently came in to us from an enquiry we had via our website, our client sent us a request via our website for a SEO proposal. We then called and spoke to them on the phone, and we arranged a face to face meeting with them.  This client asked us various questions about how we could improve their websites optimisation, we then asked them some leading questions to give us as much insight into their business as possible. Most of the way through the meeting I was taking notes and kept asking the questions which needed asking for a thorough SEO Proposal. After the meeting we agreed on a timescale for providing our proposal and went about constructing our quotation. We forwarded the quote to the client in the agreed timescale and within a couple of days they agreed to come on board with us.

I asked the client why they had chosen us over other companies that they had received proposals from. Their answer was simple, because we listened to everything they said and provided our quote tailored to these requirements. We didn’t just decide that we knew best and just send over a generic quote as our competitors did. The quote we sent was tailored exactly to their requirements as per their instruction.

The motto of this story? Listen to what your customers are asking for. They know and understand their business better than anyone else!!!!

Hustle your way to better rankings!

February 8, 2010

Hard work is essential to any successful SEO campaign but hustling is just as essential and a hard trait to perfect! Anyone can put hard work in as your determination levels are somewhat of your own making but being able to hustle well is a totally different skill and it is a vital on if you wish to succeed in business (especially the competitive online space).

I am a hustler as well as a hard worker but I will be hustling my way through 2010 in ways that I never dreamt possible in 2009 as the internet competition intensifies and gets harder to win. The subtle difference between working hard and being a hustler is an important one. If you work hard then put in long hours at the expense of your own social or family time, you persist when things are looking down and you keep yourself determined and focused on the job in hand. These are all vital skills to have but there are ways to add to these skills to make sure that your hard work is not for nothing.

In comparison, hustling is about ensuring that the time you put into your projects is not wasted, that you make sure that if you work a 16-hour day then you will see results at the end of the day. You don’t just work hard and expect things to happen because you worked overtime or during a family birthday party, you still have to actually make it happen. Getting your results and accomplishing your goals is the work of a successful hustler not just a hard worker.

The trick is to understand you can’t get one without the other. You need to be able to work hard to be a hustler but you also need to hustle to make sure your hard work pays off so you can’t have your bread without your butter. You can nearly always be better than you are and whether or not last year saw good results this year has the potential to see better and with a little bit of hustle in your step you may just make the transition from hard worker to hustler. Hustling on the internet by demanding results will see 2010 be a better year than ever and aiming high and achieving a lot is the sign of a successful hustler.

Saying you will try and achieve your goals is the motto of a hard worker but saying you will achieve you goals is the saying of a hustler. At the UK SEO Agency we work hard and we hustle hard meaning our services are unmatched in the sector.
