Setting up in business, Ways to cut costs, not quality

Filed under: Company Updates — Tags: — Nathan @ 11:13 pm

In business you have to make a lot of very tough decisions, however one of the toughest decisions will be deciding to set up on your own. A fair number of business’s will be set up and run from home in the owners spare time, and then as the business grows the second toughest decision in your business’s life will be needed - when is it the correct time go full time on your business, and will it support your lifestyle.

Well unless you have a large chunk of money set aside, it can be extremely difficult to make that decision. However in this blog we are going to give you a few tips for both your personal life, and business life to help you not only through the credit crunch, but your business’s most difficult time - transition into a successfull young business. Firstly we will work on your personal life, and then onto the business life. However I would like to

Personal Life

There are a number of sacrifices you will have to make, which will not have a major impact onto your quality of life, however will have a huge impact on your wallet.

Down value your car
There is a lot of money tied up in your vehicle, be it a Ford Mondeo or a BMW 328. Yet many people try to keep the most modern of cars they can possibly afford or not afford. Many people have bought there cars on Finance and have expensive monthly repayments. You will know you fit into this category when you say to yourself you need this car to hold your companies image as a successfull company. However the reality is that most companies you deal with are not going to be looking at your car and judging you - buying a older car can save you a lot of money, meaning you need to earn less to pay all the bills and focus on growing your business

Use lower brands when shopping
The big question is if you can tell the difference, why not buy one of the slightly lower brands and see if you can tell the difference? for example if you can not tell the difffernce between Heinz Baked Beans and the supermarket own brands, why dont you simply save the extra 80p a week on this one item? and do this on all the other items and you could save £10-15 a week on your shop.

For Business

Keep costs down
There are many suppliers out there who look to keep the costs down for their customers, instead of trying to maximise every last penny of profit from any one customers. These are companies like NH Internet Enterprises Ltd, who own the UK SEO Agency. It is in our basic ethics to keep the costs as low as we can whilst still turning a profit. Simply put, we make a lower profit per order to enable you to grow your business - unlike other agencies who despite stating publically otherwise, are solely aiming on taking every last penny they can from you.

NH Internet Enterprises Ltd

We have said a lot about the UK SEO Agency, however we have not really given you an insight as to how our company has grown. In August 2007, NH Internet Enterprises was formed to cover the affiliate marketing activities of successful search engine optimisation consultant Nathan Hall and his partner. The company grew successfully throughout 2007 with our marketing efforts focused upon many websites including a coupon code website as well as many more.

In 2008 we continued with our affiliate marketing websites however at a slower pace as we had priorities elsewhere, with Nathan and his Partner getting married, however towards the end of 2008 we decided the time was right for Nathan to come out of full time employment, and move into utilising his skill set for our own company on a full time basis, at this point the UK SEO Agency was born and our constantly evolving website was built, along with a number of other potential products.

During the year to date, we have worked extremely hard at improving our services, our existing websites and expanding our client base, being successful at all 3 of these tasks at hand. One of the things Nathan Hall has always believed in, is target one website at a specific niche - not working to many areas with to many websites, and therefore we will soon be formally launching another website based upon one of our successful products, and at the same time launching a new product to make your life easier!

As you can see we are at an exciting time within the companies history, and things can only get better!

Companies Act 2007

In today’s blog I have decided to take a step away from Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and Internet Marketing. I have gone through some of the more legal requirement for a UK  companies website as defined by the UK Companies act 2007. Many of The UK SEO Agency’s clients are business owners. I talk to many clients on a regular bases some of whom have never heard of the act let alone understand what its about. The Companies Act 2007 is very easy to implement and may save your business from a hefty fine.

Adhering to the companies’ act 2007 will not only protect you from getting fined but it will also give legitimacy to you company website, which in the long run will aid in conversion. It is worth mentioning the companies act 2007 applies to both Websites and the company emails.

With company email the Information is normally place in the footer of the email just before or after the usual confidentiality disclaimer. If you use any email software such as Outlook you can easily setup up an email template with this information on it. This will save you from typing out the information every time you want to send an email. Doing this will give legitimacy and professionalism to your email really useful when it’s a sale’s email and enable you to comply with the act.

For your company website the information doesn’t need to be on ever page although some companies choose to place it in the footer of ever page for legitimacy. For those of us who don’t want to ruin the look of there site the information can be place on any give page as long a it is clear layout out and easy accessible. I find the best way to do this is Normally by adding a no-follow link in the footer of every page to this information.

So what information is required?

1) Your companies Name

2) This might seem pretty obvious but the companies registration number should be clearly display. Many people look for this number before doing business with a company; also you should include the country within the UK were it was registered –I.e. England, Scotland e.t.c

3) Any difference between your contact name and trading name should be clear explained – I.e
UK SEO agency is a trading name / style of of NH Internet Enterprises Limited

4) If your business has a VAT number, this must be display whether you site is an e-commerce site of a lead generator site you still need it.

I hope you find this blog both interesting an reassuring when it comes to adhering to the Companies Act requirements. Tomorrows blog will resume the usual Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) topics that inspires and interests us here at The UK SEO Agency.
